Forgive my intrusion onto the String Forum (no, I haven't had a damascene conversion as a player ![]() ![]() ![]() Perwg - Sille Ilves Forthcoming in hard copy CDs, available to stream live now on Bandcamp &/or purchase/download - absolutely gorgeous and highly recommended! A unique collection of traditional Welsh melodies played on hurdy-gurdy (perwg in Welsh). Sille Ilves / hurdy-gurdy, voice, fiddle Martin Leamon / bouzouki, guitar, 1 row melodeon Ceri Rhys Matthews / voice Recorded, mixed & mastered by Jens Schroeder @ Dreamworld studios, Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Released 20 March 2013 Recorded simply, using vintage Neumann mics and a customised valve desk, sound is of audiophile quality. Many thanks for the heads-up on this lovely album ... beautifully different, but with a voice (or singing style) reminiscent of Mari Boine or Sofia Jannok ![]() |
