DVD tutor for backing with a guitar?

Post by Clinton »

Hi all,

I am wondering if there are any good DVDs and/or book/DVD combinations on backing ITM with a guitar? Hopefully something that is beyond "this is a C chord" level, and more into appropriate chord voicing choices and rhythms etc.

Regards,

Not sure what you might be looking for in terms of tuning or style but John Doyle has done at least two video courses over the years which might be useful. One is from Homespun. Another was from Mad for Trad. I find him to be an innovative player and a very good instructor. There are excerpts on YouTube if you'd like to check them out.

But these are no substitute from doing a workshop with him if you have the opportunity.

Actually, there is a huge amount of stuff available on YouTube in general.
