New spin on something old

Information is not knowledge.
Knowledge is not wisdom.
Wisdom is not truth.
Truth is not beauty. Beauty is not love.
Love is not music. Music is the best.

Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

It looks like a steampunk piano. Kinda freaky, but cool!

I was expecting something like this or even worse this.

Seems like the hurdy gurdy does much of the same with fewer parts. At least that version doesn't have drones.

It's like you put a bunch of hurdy gurdys together to expand the keyboard.
Several spinning wheels act as "bows" on differently-pitched strings, and the keys decide which string touches the bow-wheel and/or how that string is fretted.

Thanks, fearfaoin. "Bunch of hurdy gurdys" conveys the idea perfectly for me. :)
