There is a new book coming out soon and they are taking pre-orders if you're interested in
saving some money.

Madolin Cafe discussion can be found here;

(Mando Cafe discussions are generally pretty good reading, BTW.)

No finacial interest on my part, but I will say that we pre-ordered a copy for my wife.

I pre-ordered* a copy as soon as I heard about it. I figure I should be able to learn at least $15 worth of stuff from it, easy.

*didn't George Carlin have a bit about pre-ordering? I didn't actually order this before I ordered it... oh, it was airlines' announcing that they were pre-boarding passengers.

I'm tempted too, although I would have to add the cost of a mandolin to those $15.. there are just too many interesting instruments out there, and it's a constant struggle to avoid keeping buying them!

Tor-- you won't regret trying the mandolin. It's just about the most fun instrument I know of. Head over to Mandolincafe.com and check out the forums for some ideas on fairly inexpensive but quite respectable instruments.
