My first timple was the same model as yours bazmaz , same maker as well. I sent that one to a pal in the US. I aslo had an Aria made one.
I never went to the timple museo despite living there for nearly four years.
The one I play now the De La Fuenta was made in Tias and has a longer scale and frets right to the soundhole. It is a concert model.
Did we ever meet? There was a uke player at the session I ran once at the Harp Bar in Puerto Del Carmen?
If youre ever looking again there is a shop selling very high quality Timples in Arrecife. well there are a few shops but one hias the best timples and a wide selection. its also very hard to find.

To me the extra string just makes it so much more interesting as a melody instrument but I still find it to limiting for instrumental Irish music but fine for songs.

Still working on some pictures.

Patrick

Not played uke on Lanzarote Patrick, so can't have met.

Yes, that is a basic one I bought, but I did visit the workshop where he makes them in the heart of Teguise.

I upgraded the tuners, and put some Worth strings on it. I love the way it sounds!

One of the most famous timple players Jose Antonio Ramos took the timple to all kinds of traditions before his passing including musica celta.
