Upright bass...

Hi folks...
I know there are a few other folks here who play the bass. I have played for many years, but never actually got more than a very few lessons. I am not a 'natural' with music, and have most of what I do have by way of endless repetition rather than inherent skill or understanding. Hence, when I encounter a problem, I am usually a long time in figuring it out. So.. perhaps you can help me on this one. B-minor.
I love tunes in B-minor - to listen to. They are a pain in the neck.. er rather... left hand to play back-up for on the bass! They tend to be second 'fret' all across the neck, and that gets my hand cramping and achy faster than anything else. Anyone got any pointers, comments, sympathy to offer?
Wish we had a bass capo!
