I sold a Kentucky KM 380 a couple months ago, you missed it. They are very good for the price and you can't go wrong with one. You should put something up on the Mandolin Cafe classifieds.

Whoops, thanks Avery, for the reminder: I meant to mention that I have already put a wanted ad up at Mando Cafe. I knew someone would suggest that  Bummer that I missed out on yours. :( I just missed out on another one on ebay today, sold for $225. My timing sucks, as usual.

I ended up trading mine for a Tenor Banjo, I don't miss it that much my hands were jsut not made for the small neck of the Mandolin. Good luck.

-I miss a 1911 Gibson A1 purchased on impulse in the 1970s and sold a few years later. -Sooooo sweet, but heavy lacquering by a previous owner dampened some of its sound. Ignorance of humidifying in dry Michigan winters fixed the problem when the heavy finish crazed, restoring the brilliance of the A and E string sets. -Somewhat affordable then and not at all now, the consolation being current mandolins which sound, play and look good and which are available at reasonable prices...

I'm with ya Brian: I know where there is, what I believe to be, a teens or twenties Gibson oval hole A mandolin, just sitting unused. It's a long story, but the current owner doesn't play, and doesn't have any intention of learning to play. It's not a family heirloom, and it's not in great condition (but it could be put back in good working order.) Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I can't get the guy to part with it, which drives me crazy, because it's just sitting in a closet, unhumidified, and unappreciated - two things that drive me nuts :swear:

Ah well, so I'm reduced to trying to find a good bargain on something with less old school mojo, so be it.

Anyone got a old Flatiron they want to part with :D
