FS: Freshwater 10-string mandolin/Beltone banjo mandolin set

Post by tommyk »

A set of two fine instruments in a custom case with fine custom straps and excellent strings.

Freshwater custom 10-string mandolin:
American Black Walnut back, sides, & peghead cover; Spruce soundboard; mahogany neck; Pickup installed; black tuners, bridge, nut, straplocks, and body binding; Celtic knot soundhole
[$950]
Upgraded black Allen tailpiece
[$110]

Beltone banjo-mandolin from the 1920s-40s in excellent shape
[$450]
Refurb by Phil Crump (refret, inlay save, reset neck, clean up)
[$200]

Custom Cedar Creek case in silver with purple quilted interior to house both instruments: nickel hardware, combination lock, roomy storage compartment, shroud, and built-in hygrometer/thermometer.
[$275]

Custom Double Treble Strap for the mandolin:
Black leather with purple knotwork embroidery
[$105]
Celtic knot concho from MacManus & Sons in Berkeley, CA
[$50]

Neoprene Banjo Strap with custom embroidery from Double Treble
[$35]

Strings: Both instruments are currently strung with Thomastik-Infeld
flatwound strings still in excellent condition.
Brand new extra strings included:
For the banjo-mandolin: Thomastik-Infeld flatwound complete set
plus two extra “E” strings; one roundwound set of DR mandolin strings
For the 10-string mandolin:
Three sets of John Pearse phosphor bronze roundwounds.

Total: over $2,200.00
At a 33% discount (one third savings on all new-to-excellent quality items), I would like $1,500.00; you save $700.00 on this fabulous double instrument package.

I will certainly entertain splitting the items up if it comes to that; however, I will attempt to sell this as a set on eBay before splitting it up. Someone looking for a good mandolin with the added tonal bonus of the banjo mandolin would be in for a good deal here.

I will have photos available by January 3rd. If you'd like me to email you photos, please email me here:
