Nice dulcimer! I heard a few examples of James Jones' craftsmanship this weekend at a dulcimer festival in E-town. I spent some time between sessions talking with and listening to a gentleman who had one just like this. Very sweet instrument.

Beautiful. I notice it has tuning pegs on both sides. That's a nice touch. If I had the cash I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Just to clarify, although some tuning pegs are on the right and some are on the left, there aren't tuning pegs at both ends of each string. If you look closely, you'll see hitch pins as well.

I have a James Jones dulcimer, a different model (the 3/16/18/9 Custom Performance) and love mine. I can also vouch for James as a wonderful person to work with -- he's helpful, kind, thoughtful, and responds promptly to email. If you bought one of his dulcimers used and then had any questions, I'm sure he'd be quick to help.

Dow, I'm sad to see you giving up your dulcimer, but I hope it finds a home where it will be played and loved, and that you get great joy from your new flute.

Thanks, Sarah for the kind wishes. Please feel free to forward this information to anybody who might be interested. I've had two inquiries so far, but neither worked out. While I might be willing to part out some of it, my original plan was for it to be complete enough so that someone could unpack it, tune up, and start playing.
