Hello,

Looking to buy a Bouzouki. I am left handed and will have to convert any right handed instruments to a Lefty (which is fine) but it needs to be a floating bridge style. PM me if you have an instrument to cut loose!

Thanks,

You might have a look at the classifieds on Mandolin Cafe (specifically, the CBOM section). I have a Trinity College up there for sale, myself, and you can find that particular listing if you want. Here's the general one:

This is an old post so you have likely found your bouzouki and converted it to lefty, but I have often wondered why we left handers would want to. When I play a stringed instrument my left hand does much of the creative decision making work while my right is often just strumming or bowing. I think this might give left handers an edge, at least in most ITM settings. Even most bluegrass banjo players have a relatively stable finger picking pattern on the right hand, while the left is going up and down the neck all over the place.

Of course if you have already gone down the road of left handed string playing these thoughts will be useless to you... But just in case...

So just to play the advocate, you’re saying all the great right handed string players out there would be even better if they played left handed?

Not to sound like a jerk but I hate that argument. Fell for it when I was a kid and my parents bought me a right handed a guitar because the sales man preached the same logic. I could never get my strum hand to play on time and my rhythm always suffered and then I quit. If I would’ve just bought a left-handed guitar I would be pretty good by now. On the contrary I probably would not be a Piper today so what can I really complain about.
