Question about shipping a mandolin

Hi friends,
I’ll probably be posting a mandolin (Fullerton Gloucester) for sale sometime in the next few days. Once I have a buyer and the time comes to pack it up, what do I do about the bridge? I’ve read of people lying the bridge flat for banjos, but I’m not sure if I should do the same with the mandolin. I do intend to put fresh strings on and detune them prior to packing, but just not sure what to do about the bridge.
If I do remove the bridge or lie it flat under the strings, should I mark proper placement with a pencil for the buyer?
Thanks in advance!
