New Year Resolutions, What's Yours?

Post by ancientfifer »

My resolution(s) for the upcoming 2015: I have a strong desire to perform music publicly, beyond the weekly informal session, and plan to get off my duff and make it happen, and try my hand at recording as well. This will include more intentional practice and study of the music, styles, favorite performers and composers, past and present. And also composing; I have written a few tunes, and even a couple songs, though I'll leave the singing part for someone with a good voice. But for now the only audience I have are the clothes hanging in the closet I have been castigated to practice in by the wifey, LOL!
Happy Holidays and New Year to ALL!

My wife and I never do resolutions but earlier this year, we agreed to eat healthier. Not every breakfast begins with sausage, bacon, and eggs. I like cereal. Yes, I do.

Those unfortunate, deprived people. Couldn't someone set up a "Save the Breakfasts" fund on TV for them?

That's the problem with kids today. They all want someone else to set up a fund or save the world and it's all about the TV too.

I dunno, Mute. Nowadays one must try to avoid killing trees. And the Web is awfully vast, maybe too vast; you have to find the right sites first and you may not even know they're out there. I say the Tube is the way to go: it brings the party to you whether you like it or not. If it weren't for TV I would never have known about the McRib or the Yumbo, much less that they'd even been revived.

And of course I want someone else to do it. It should be somebody who's concerned (or at least is in advertising), as opposed to me.

I have decided that next year it would be wise to stop watching television. There is never anything on it that I enjoy watching.

Ditto. At 5-10 pounds a year, I'll be back at high-school track season weight in 2-4 years. I think it's been 25 years since I've seen that. After 2014 I'm reasonably sure I can do it.

I am shooting at a few things this year. I tend to go in fits and starts on various instruments. So my goal is to pick up a whostile or flute for 15 minutes a day..

I have a few pounces to chase away as well :)
