Maybe 10 years ago I came across a very nice waltz in D on Youtube. There was an old couple playing the tune, and I seem to remember they said it was composed by an American man for a wedding. It must be very local because I've looked for it on Tunepal, all the tune finders I could find and there is no trace of that tune. I only remember the first part! The second part must be locked somewhere in my brain, frustratingly out of reach. I'm desperate so I'm posting the first part here, hoping anyone would recognize it and could point me to the full version.
Mysterious waltz
Thanks in advance!
PS: There's a C# and a A in there that should be an octave lower, at the end of the A part played the first time.
Can anyone in the world help me find this tune?

When I listened to the tune you played I thought immediately of Jay Ungar's "Lover's Waltz." If this isn't it, it's pretty close, and a very lovely tune for sure.

I'm asking you because you're an educated sort of swine. John LeCarre
