Wonderful man. Saw him in concert a couple of times over the years. What an inspiration.

Strangely enough I had one of my primary classes singing along to Pete Seeger (the original three verses of 'Where Have All The Flowers Gone?') the day he died, with instrumental parts to teach next week...

One of the true greats!

We sang his songs when I was a kid in Catholic grade school. These are some of the few songs that I can remember the words. The nice sisters made a very good choice. May he rest in peace.

The local song circle that I go to, Songmakers, traces its roots back to Pete Seeger. We still call the meetings, hoots, a reference to hootenany. It isn't always folk music, but the spirit lives on.

The song book we use, Rise Up Singing, was in part a Pete Seeger project. 94 is a long life, so it isn't sad news.

When I think of a life well lived, I often think of Pete Seeger.

I had the pleasure of seeing him several times over the years, both in concert and on the protest lines. He taught me the power of folk music and that you should "take a tune and make it your own".

His multiple legacies are sure to live on.
