Tilt shift photography

Tilt-shift photography is the use of a special lens
(or a plethora of Photoshop skillz) to make a real
scene look like a picture of miniatures. Like this:

Well, an art student has applied the technique to
several Van Gogh paintings with interesting results.

Some interesting extra-dimensionality ensues.
