I've started a yahoogroup for those of us who want to talk about the upcoming election off this board. All are welcome. There is an owner (me) but no moderator.

Subscribe by sending blank email to the address below. Also included are other relevant email addresses, including the one you use to post.

Does this work like an e-mail listserv, or is there an actual board one can go look at?

Most Yahoo groups you subscribe to give you the choice, when you sign up, of either receiving the messages by email, or reading them on the board instead (all messages end up on the board anyway). I belong to a couple and one in particular had so many messages that I unsubscribed finally. It took about a week for the request to kick in. I was receiving way to many emails, just like a listserv, about 30-40 p/day!

Is this Dale's way of saying 'Put a sock in it'?

Actually, I think Dale is genuinely concerned about this election, as I am, and he has set this up as a more convenient way to discuss it. There are plenty of other OT topics that we can (and will) still fight about.

I pledge to continue the "get out the vote" (ever what that means, grammatically) campaign on behalf of the Chiff and Fipple constituency... maybe.

I take it to be what it says it is, nothing more.
If Dale wants us to put a sock on it,
he would say so, I reckon. Best
