Hi.

I am the co-publisher of this book. Please read the ad copy (if you can!--sorry about the fuzziness). I'd be grateful if you'd consider buying a copy. $5 out of $6 goes to charity.

Order via paypal at http://www.mercyseatpress.com

Thanks,

Dale

Any possiblity of posting a sample of the type of poetry Lucy wrote?

Some poetry I like, some I love, some I don't get at all.

Pick something that will leave us wanting more.

Good thing you're doing.

Just ordered mine, and looking forward to it. This project must mean a lot to you, Dale, to put so much of your time and effort into it, and it's easy enough to see why it would.

A word of elaboration. Lucy passed away last year from leukemia at age 13. My friend, the poet Sandra Agricola, and I assembled this little book of her poems as a benefit to charities, and as a help in the grieving process for her family and friends.. Surprisingingly, we sold out the first printing of 400 and are getting low of the second printing of 400. We haven't even started "marketing." The poems are not those of a mature poet. (Thank goodness). They are the writings of a young girl who is very much full of life and love. They are simple and unpretentious. For readers of contemporary poetry, these poems wouldn't stand up. On the other hand, the writings are a reminder of the power of life and the transitory nature thereof. If possible, it has made me love my daughters even harder.

Milky Way

twinkle, twinkle does the light
of a comet taking flight
shimmer, shimmer does the star
in a sky as black as tar
glowing, glowing up in space
a constellation made of lace
beaming, beaming from above
the sun sends us warmth and love
shine, shine does the moon
reflecting on a dark lagoon
home, home is our earth
creating shelter for new birth
