Fire Sale Part 3, and announcement of reason!

Post by avanutria »

Hi, thanks for looking. I've been careful to only post these once a month, and I got Dale's permission in December. If anyone feels that I am posting "for sale" too much, please contact me off board.

**********

Many of you know that I've been working on raising money lately. Well, now the reason is official. I don't know if I will be able to afford it yet, but I just found out today that I have been accepted to the Bachelor of Arts program in Linguistics at University College London! This three year program will begin in September. It's £9,730 per year for foreign students, so I have a lot of fundraising to do! (if you have leads on scholarship funds or other ideas, please email/PM me! I've already submitted my FAFSA...)

**********

Below please find some musical instruments, electronic items, books and CDs, and woodworking supplies. Anything that you buy can be returned if you don't like it. If there's no picture up on an item you are interested in, please let me know and I will get one up immediately. I swear I will get sound clips for instruments up soon - sooner if they are requested!

***** Current eBay auctions - you want to see this if you like The Beatles *****

Amazon gift certificate - Are you planning on ordering from Amazon anytime soon? I received a $10 electronic certificate for responding to a survey. I've got no use for it, but could use the $10. If you are planning a purchase and would like to swap $10 paypal or check for $10 amazon, let me know and we can arrange the trade.

Musical instruments: A couple bucks shipping, depending on weight.

If you want a whistle case made, I may be able to help you out. Email me with your case details!
Step One: Play Pennywhistle book and CD set - $9
Translucent blue Yamaha recorder - $6
LBW whistle with a Cnat hole created in the back. In tune! - $15
Kaen - 16 inches, and I suspect not pro quality. But interesting nonetheless. $20 Photo (commentary not by me)
Johannes Adler Recorder - Tenor C, Pearwood. I recently acquired it locally and am working on cleaning it up before setting a price. Depending on cleanup success, probably between $60 and $100.
Native American Flute - $225 shipped and insured, or make an offer. Aromatic Cedar, six-hole. Photo 1. Photo 2. Photo 3. Photo 4
Ceramic G flute - $75 shipped/insured. This flute is really cool, I got it at a craft show in Rochester NY. Several years ago it fell and cracked in half but I repaired it and have never had any problems with it. You can see the crack line if you look for it, it's at the top of the top finger hole. Photo. It's got a kokopelli on it at the top.
Decorative 10" bodhran - 3" deep, two crossbars, celtic knot pattern painted on the front. Bought in Donegal. Comes with a tiny tipper. Kind of an instrument, but not really. $15
Whistle tweaking supplies - what do you need?
Andean panpipes

A million books: Shipping is probably a couple of dollars for media mail. If you want to hear what the back cover says I'd be happy to type it out for you.

The Dolphins of Pern by Anne McCaffrey. Hardcover. $6
Tales from the Great Turtle: Fantasy in the Native American Tradition edited by Piers Anthony and Richard Gilliam. Nearly 500 pages. ISBN 0-812-53490-5. A tear on the back cover but not bad. $5
too many more. I'm making a master list...

Eíst: songs in their native language. Please note that the liner notes they sent with this CD were put together wrong and are missing most pages, but I got a photocopy from Tygress and so would include that. Photo
Amy Grant - My Father's Eyes

Cross-stitch kit, $10 plus shipping. Photo
Cats and birds cross stitch kit, 14" x 9" picture size - $17 plus shipping

Photography supplies

Quantaray camera bag that converts to a backpack - $35 shipped. Four Photos
Four-reel metal 35mm film developing canister - $18 shipped, great condition.
Small changing bag by Photoco. Double lined and zippered; nylon with rubber backing. Still in box, never used. 17" x 17". Make an offer.
A great many Cokin square filters. Check with me - I'm making a list.

Turned Wooden Items - I made these. Shipping $3.85 priority. If you don't like them you can return them.

Oak Keychain - Photo.2.5 inches long, slightly over 1/2 inch at its widest point. Large grain and circular grain patterns due to the design. $10
Yew Pen - Photo. A chocolaty colour with nice grain. $20
Cherry Pen - A middleish tan colour with streaks of light wood and a patch of dark wood near the tip. $20
Spalted Dogwood Pen - Photo. Hard to make, as spalted wood is less stable than other woods. The spalting pattern is unique to each piece of wood. This pen has a hairline surface crack but it won't cause any trouble (and if it ever does I'll make you a new one). $27
Walnut Pen and Pencil set - Unwaxed, as I didn't have any turning wax when I made these, but that means you can feel the wood grain against your hand. Slim, smooth. The pencil has an eraser in the top. $32 for the pair.

Woodworking supplies - if you have even the remotest interest in any of this, let me know and I'll take tons of pics and measurements.

I have a bunch of bigleaf maple turning blanks, pen-sized.
Also lots of pen-making hardware - parts kits and so forth.
Some pre-routed blanks for making dual-bore native american flutes, I think they might be zebrawood.
A big redwood piece, whistle or possibly flute dimensions.
Two interesting pieces of thin-layer laminated wood - that's how those cool striped pens are made, but these pieces are large. A striped wooden flute or whistle? Photo 1 Photo 2

Tell us something.: I became interested in the beauty and versatility of Irish whistles and music over 20 years ago when I first found the Chiff boards. Yes, I do have WHOA, and I love my whistles. :)
