Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

Cucumber sandwiches

Post by benhall.1 »

This is the tune/song that's driving me mad today. I can only remember a small part of the chorus, that sort of goes:

Kew, Kew, Cucumber sandwiches ...

... the tune of which is something like, at a steady sort of pace:

M:4/4
L:1/8
K:C
G4 A4 | B2B>c B>AG2 |

Anybody? I can't find it anywhere. I think it might be somebody like Noel Coward or possibly Flanders and Swann or somebody like that. But who knows, I could be way off ...

Not Harry Champion's little bit of cucumber?
I like pickled onions.
I like piccalilli.
Pickled cabbage is all right with a bit of cold meat on a Sunday night.
I can go tomatoes, but what I do prefer is a little bit of cucum, cucum, cucum, little bit of cucumber.
My brain hurts

Can't find it, either. Here's what I'm guessing: You've unconsciously generated your own unique earworm. It's entirely possible; I do it all the time, myself.

The only thing for you to do is take it and write a song.

No, honestly, it's a real thing.

I wonder why I can't find it, then. Hmm...

Well, that´s been interesting. Just took a short detour through George Formby´s lyrics, but no soap. Nor cucumbers. :D
