I don't know how you keep track of what's your herbs and what's your spices. Yes, coriander if we must. But not under my roof.

Simple:

The herb is "coriander" and is delicious, especially as a garnish - on a lightly spiced dish, for instance.
The spice is "coriander" and is used in spiced dishes.

It's really very simple. :D

Seasoning is salt. That's it.
Spices are seeds, flowerets (like star anise) and the like.
Herbs are stems and leaves.

A question asked in innocence (honest) - is "flowerets" an American term for "florets"? Oh ... except that would still leave me confused, as star anise doesn't consists of florets ... :-?
