I don't know how you keep track of what's your herbs and what's your spices. Yes, coriander if we must. But not under my roof.

Simple:

The herb is "coriander" and is delicious, especially as a garnish - on a lightly spiced dish, for instance.
The spice is "coriander" and is used in spiced dishes.

It's really very simple.

Seasoning is salt. That's it.
Spices are seeds, flowerets (like star anise) and the like.
Herbs are stems and leaves.

A question asked in innocence (honest) - is "flowerets" an American term for "florets"? Oh ... except that would still leave me confused, as star anise doesn't consists of florets ...
