Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Oh, I was doing preventative maintenance to an antenna.
Can you not open the links? I thought the view was pretty nifty.

Oh, I could open them just fine. It's just that there was a fair bit of info I couldn't interpret beyond guesses, not having a point of reference. For instance, based on appearances I'm resting on the conclusion that you're an Air Force engineer, but in the end I don't know jack about this.

I agree the view is...er...challenging. I have a thing about heights. It's why I stopped doing construction; one can take only so much embarrassment.

But the question is, did you bring your pipes up there with you? :P

Now that would be something to behold: some guy atop an antenna playing the GHBs.

There would be a particularly triumphal quality to it, don't you think?

It would remind me of the angel sounding the Last Trumpet. Only worse.

Nope. That would have been interesting to try, but... sadly, the thought hadn't occurred to me.

Yeah, there's two main problems with me playing the pipes up there:
1. I need both hands to climb the ladder, and there's no carrying the pipes in a backpack on top of my safety harness.
2. The antenna being climbed cannot transmit or receive with me up there; at least, that's my! preference...
