I note Olivier Bouchard now has a "shop" on Etsy, OBWhistles, where he is offering his high D whistles. I purchased one and it is great. Sorry if this was already mentioned.

Tell us something.: Whistle is my "3rd" instrument... after voice and concertina, though I actually took up concertina after the whistle. Now I'm putting more time into my music, and that includes putting more effort into the whistles. This is clearly the place for help and inspiration, including from a few old friends.

Hi folks,

I'm looking for sources for both Generation and Oak whistles, to order 10-12 at a time of a given key, and I thought the WMD was just what I needed. Unfortunately, on neither of the web sites linked in the directory for those two kinds of whistle can I find anything at all about whistles. What am I missing?

Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

I've updated the link to the Generation website. They had obviously changed it since this list was made. The link shown for Oak whistles goes to a general music retailer's site, which does indeed list Oak whistles. However, there may well be many more sources, and if there is an "official" site for Oak whistles that anyone can point me to, I will gladly update the list - Mod.

Two more to add to the list:

deQuelery Windinstruments in the Netherlands

They make saxophones and penny whistles.

https://dequelery.nl/?lang=en

And also:

Raymon LeQuin

A retired machinist is bringing those skills to the craft of the whistlesmith. No website as of yet, but does have an Ebay store set up.

Tell us something.: Hello,
I'm a long time woodwind player, interested particularly in whistles. I came across the Whistle Makers directory (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=99954) and thought I'd contribute!
Thanks,

Hello all,

I recently bought a low whistle, and thought that an overview of what's available would be nice to have. Richard (https://thesession.org/discussions/41756) pointed me at this list of makers, which is great!

However, how about taking it a step further, and actually see whether we can list makers along side the whistles they make? Such a list could be useful for people looking for specific features or rare keys? I'd started a list in a Google sheet here before I came across the WMD, see http://bjohas.de/go/whistlelist. I've since added the makers from the WMD sticky post. I've also created a form that allows simple additions: http://bjohas.de/go/whistlesurvey (though feel free to request edit permissions on the sheet too!).

What do you think?

Best wishes,
Bjoern

Any chance my listing can be updated as I no longer use the ethnicwind.com web page. Unfortunately I I didn’t renew it when I took a couple years off, and they wanted too much money to renew the name.

New web page is: http://www.theirishwhistle.com

Back to making whistle and music full time
And I now live in McAllen TX

Goldleaf whistles from Canada. Ianick only started marketing his whistles a little while ago and so far has only made one batch but they are excellent! Made from carbon fiber. No listing at the moment but he's gonna make more (I hope):
