Seeking advice on whistle values

Post by StarrM »

I've had my present collection of whistles for 10 - 12 years, and after seeing the value of a whistle on eBay that I also own, I've realized I should probably get my instruments listed on my home insurance. Would it be acceptable to ask opinions on this forum as to the ball-park values of the whistles?

Thanks all,
Starr

Oh, just in case it's okay to ask, following are the whistles I'm interested in opinions on. The Chieftain whistles used to be economical, but I haven't purchased a whistle in awhile so I included it. I was shocked to see a Copeland low G on eBay, and the price it had listed, which prompted me to post here. (Thank goodness I got mine when I did...I love that whistle!)

Chieftain C
Fred Rose African blackwood D
Burke brass D
Burke brass B flat
Burke low D (wide bore)
Overton low D (made by Colin Goldie)
Silkstone tuneable alloy whistle in C
O'Riordan concert D/C set
Copeland low G in brass

I was so lucky to be able to get on Pat O'Riordan's list, and I still fondly remember talking with Colin Goldie after ordering the low D Overton from him. He played me 3 whistles over the phone and let me choose from them. What a nice man!
