Like an Original Clark?
I love the sound from the Original Clark with the wood fipple - it's gentle and breathy and soft. Are there other whistles with a similar sound? Perhaps a higher grade whistle, or is Original Clark the best I can get for this particular soft and breathy (non sharp/piercing) sound? Thank you in advance!

Though I am not a big fan of this sound, I think the Shaw will be very similar and perhaps a little more solidly constructed.

The Shaw is a bit harsher in the tone, yet still breathy. The downside is that it takes a lot of air. A lot. Probably the most of any whistle I've ever played.ecohawk wrote:Though I am not a big fan of this sound, I think the Shaw will be very similar and perhaps a little more solidly constructed.

I am not a huge fan of the original's sound, I use it mostly for practicing 'cause it's quiet and easy to play.

Then you need one of Dale's Naked Black Splendor models.Corgicrazed wrote:I do NOT like the diamonds down the front.
But they are no longer available, AFAIK. So then there is the unpainted Victorian Whistle.
I've proven who I am so many times, the magnetic strips worn thin.

If you play it enough, the diamonds will rub off ...Corgicrazed wrote: I do NOT like the diamonds down the front.
