A compliment, FINALLY

Post by Tucson Whistler »

My sister actually gave me a compliment on my playing the other day . I had played a few tunes back to back, and from the other room she hollered, "Wow, that was really good". That was the first time. Since I wasn't playing a new tune or doing anything out of the ordinary, I'm assuming it was more of a compliment to the Freeman Tweaked Bb I was playing.

Right now. She wants him to play from the back room. Distance does make the heart grow fonder.

Does this mean that, during sessions, you're going to want to play from the next room? :P

Congratulations! No one has told me that they like my playing yet.

When she requests a tune, does she still ask you to play "Far From Home"?

I wasn't so much teasing as pointing out that for many people whistles sound much better from a distance. Playing in the same room that my family is sitting isn't something that going to happen but if we were all outside, that would be a different thing.

Teach the baby how to whistle. That'll teach her.

Oh, I hadn't thought of that. I just assumed that it was because the Bb isn't as high pitched.

Actually I gave her (my niece) a high g when she was about two years old (it fit her hands better than a D whistle). My sister finally had to hide it because my niece wouldn't stop playing it.

Or 'Sound of Silence'?

[[Edit: congratulations on a compliment. I still treasure the rare few that come my way.]]

Congratulations!! :)

I just received my best compliment on Friday at my local session. I played Si Bheag Si Mhor and was accompanied by a very experienced and excellent guitar player. When we finished he said 'That's about the best I've played along with. It made accompaniment a real pleasure to play.'
I thanked him and told him how much that meant coming from him.
Result!! :D
Cheers

David
