Yes, interesting book and nice to have on the shelf. Hopkin's work also spawned an EMI journal and an early website dedicated to experimental musical instruments (EMI). The remains are here: http://windworld.com/

As the popularity of the web has mushroomed over the last decade, so has the interest in EMI or perhaps just the tangible demonstration of who is experimenting with EMI. The amount of information available throughout the web rather outstrips what could be contained in the book. YouTube is a great place to view and hear what's available across the world of EMI. I am always interested in collecting plans for new and unusual instruments. Some year I'll get around to making some of my favorites.

I discovered Reichel and the daxophone some years ago. His "In Harmony with Henry the Horse" is the definitive postmodern statement on the contrapuntal exposition of very, very rude noises.

Bart Hopkins has a series of magazines that he used to print called "Experimental Music Instruments". Good guy, I've written to him quite a bit. His magazines and books was the inspiration for some my instruments such as the Basswhistle, Chromatic Whistle and Bagwhistle.
