Well, I think this is on topic. Here is a picture of a punishment mask for those that gossiped. It is in the Criminal Museum in Rothenburg, Germany. <img src="http://www.kriminalmuseum.rothenburg.de ... /maske.jpg">
They also had a mask used for bad musicians (I'm sorry, but I forgot to get a picture). It was basically a whistle that was attached to a ring that locked around your neck and locked your fingers onto the 'tone holes'. It looked very embarrassing. I'm very thankful that I do not live in that era... I wouldn't be able to type on the computer with my fingers locked.
POST EDIT: Just to make it clear... the gossip mask is not on topic - it was just to give you an idea of what the 'bad musician' mask looked like.
