New Sweetheart Pro Whistles in plastic [Commercial Content]
[Tune: "Polly, Put the Kettle On" ]
Polycarbonate, my friend,
Is our new black upper end.
It's the Pro-Plus stuff of choice
To get a better voice.
Just wanted everyone to know that we recently tried making our Professional Model Pennywhistle out of plastic. We were having too many issues when voicing the Permali, which is beautiful but fickle. I've always felt that playablity should be a high priority; Polycarbonate, ABS and Delrin heads are VERY consistent (during and after manufacture) and they voice like the whistles we've always wanted. The material comes with FDA approval.
I also wondered if people would miss the beauty of the woodgrain, so I made up some samples. Whistles 1, 2 and 3 are all plastic, while Permali (the laminate) makes up increasing portions of numbers 4 and 5. We’d like to make everyone happy (hence the survey), but ultimately, we’ll have to make a decision.
In the near future, we'll use plastic for the Pro-Mellows, too (same price). Thanks for reading.
Walt (with Dale's approval)

all black
They are all very elegant, but I really like the all black with no decorations best.

I like the look of the Permali, but it just looks like jump from the Permali to the plastic mouthpiece. So I voted all plastic.
They're all nice looking whistles though.
In order of preference:
Henry Ford model: all black plastic, Plastic with Permali beads, Permali body and barrel with plastic upper, All plastic with ivoroid beads, and Permali body and most of the head with balance in plastic.
Thanks by the way for allowing us to offer our opinions

Learning to...
Play the Irish whistle, Harmonica, Recorder, Fife, Panpipes, Clarinet, Hand ocarina, and Piano Accordion, all within the last year
(Music is more fun then ever before)

I've voted, and my top choice is the all black.
However, a close second would be the all black with the ivoroid/white trimmings. Aesthetically, the white trim on black appeals to me.
The designs combining the black plastic with brown wood-like material just look weird to me. I know your company is well-known for its wooden instruments, so it might seem appropriate to add (brown) wooden touches even to your black plastic instruments, but I'm not sure it works.

Black Holes
Oh, Darn! I forgot to do the holes! I hate it when that happens.
Could someone Photo-Shop them in for me?

All black gets my vote.
How about a whistle tour so we can actually play and hear 'em?
