I found the seemingly previously undiscovered Doolin whistle in Ireland. It's made in Ennis, apparently. There is a two-piece version (like a Clare but different and better) and a one-piece version. They both play the same. I tried a lot of them and they seem to be consistent. I would say the Doolin whistle plays like a highly sought after (needle in a Haystack) "good Generation." It takes VERY LITTLE air, and when played right, sounds pure and sweet. It is very much like the Cillian Improved whistle in playability and tone. Steve carries both the Cillian Improved and Doolin whistles at Shannaquay. Can't go wrong here if you're looking for a good inexpensive whistle.
