Hello all,

I ran this by Dale before posting as it includes a URL which I spent hours putting on and now can’t work how to remove again!

This video shows (the elusive) Steve Harper performing a tune he composed called “Harpers Happy Hornpipe” on a Harper tuneable D. This tune is played on each whistle before it leaves the workshop (before being sterilised!) ready for packing and sending to it’s new owner.

Enjoy :)

Stuart

Hey! I'm super duper new to the tin whistle but I just learned how to play the Lord of the Rings song. It's slow and easy but I'm not so great at playing by ear and am learning sheet music slowly. Finally someone put up a tutorial and since I think it's pretty I thought it'd be nice to get to know everyone and let everyone get to know me with a little Youtube video.

I also have videos of me doing hoop tricks but that's another obsession for another crowd.

I am practicing the octaves and scales along with the songs in the Clarke Tin Whistle book with the accompanying CD. I hope that someday I'll be doing jigs, reels and beautiful airs.

For now this is what I've got.

I think this hasn't been posted before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyOdcfofcvQ

Alan Doherty and Colin Farrell on F whistles. Modern stuff but it's so fun to watch them playing.

I have a couple of jigs we've recorded just for fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBcSAUbmp9Y

The guitar player was talking about some kind of reggae-tic he had this morning and I had an overdose Deiseal yesterday as it seems.....
Anyway - it was fun to play :)

The first one is called 'The Pipers Picnic'. We use to play this one at our local session in Bonn/Germany.
The second one is 'Kalyana' and we've learnd it from Alan Doherty.
The last tune is 'The Black Rogue' or 'An Rógaire Dubh'.

Hope you enjoy!

Cheers

I recently took up the tin whistle. I normally play the ocarina but I keep catching myself reaching for the tin
whistle more and more often.

Here's my first tin whistle video ever :
