- Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

Hi Ketil. The sound is lovely, but there's something funny going on with the rhythm. I can't work out whether you're adding a beat or two or taking some out. It's in the A part. Maybe have a listen to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3oO6I56GucKetil wrote:My take on the Morning Star reel on my Colin Goldie low D. Hope you like it.

- Tell us something.: Hi everyone!
My name is Pavel and I'm from Moscow, Russia.
As a child I learnt to play the piano, which I still just love doing, but I've never been good at it. Once when I was shopping around in Italy I saw a recorder and decided to buy it. Since then I grew to love ITM and I changed the recorder to irish flute. I never thought I would play any wind instrument, but here I am. Still learning though.

I play the dobro and low whistle and sometimes like to combine the two. Here's Last of the Stars written by Brian Finnegan

- Tell us something.: I've been playing Irish flute and whistles since January 2016. It's been a great departure from percussion, which has been my primary form of musicianship since I was a boy.

Re: No whistle Youtube thread? Well then!
Had a great time learning from Christy Barry when I was in Doolin in 2016. When I went to his house for a lesson, he invited me to stay all day, then join him for the session that evening. I asked him for practice advice, and he told me to take my flute and whistle out into the field, and play slow airs to the grasses and leaves. He told me to play the same tune over and over for 15 or 20 minutes, until I felt like I was playing along with nature. "Let the music flow out into the fields, like the gentle winds" he said.
Here's a clip of the man in his element, practicing what he preaches, on the footpath towards the Cliffs of Moher.

Thanks for that link. That is some of the most awesome playing I ever saw on a tin whistle. I think I need to step up my gamestiofan wrote:Toccata and Fugue, by J.S. Bach, played by Antoine Pihier.
