Hi!
I am signed up for an Overton low E. I can play a Chieftain low E. Is the spacing of the Chieftain and a Goldie Overton similar?
Thanks!

Heya,

Yeah, they're somewhat similar. Keep in mind that Hardy's Chieftains are machine-made, so are almost all identical. Goldie makes every one completely by hand. I have had the pleasure of visiting his shop and absolutely falling in love with a low E, but for lack of a little something called money, alas it is not part of my collection. Good choice; you won't have any problems with the spacing. If nothing else, I have found them to be a bit easier than Chieftains.

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

I don't have any Low E whistles, but I have had about a half dozen Chieftains and twice as many Overtons. In general I've found the finger spacing on the newer (last 2-3 years) Goldie Overtons to be a bit easier (closer together) than the Chieftains.
