Isn't it? But I imagine it's difficult to design something that does not affect the tone / timbre and still does a good job of blocking wind. Plus they need to justify that $40 plus price tag somehow.pancelticpiper wrote: Wow. The hyperbole is over the top:

Re: Tin whistles in the wind
Honestly, I would think easiest would just be to set up some sort of wind-blocker... a piece of clear acrylic on a stand/tripod? Manhasset makes such a thing, but it's not cheap: https://shop.manhasset-specialty.com/p/ ... eld?pp=24
(Or, a face shield? Do they go low enough?)

The problem is not the url tags but the line feed before the closing tag.
And I think wind would simply find its way round that shield-on-a-stand where whistle playing's concerned.

Weird. I thought links didn't automatically "link" here so I had to use the tags. Good to know.Tommy wrote:The link will open better leaving off theKatharine wrote: a piece of clear acrylic on a stand/tripod? They do, but ones of any length are visually compressed without the tags:
https://shop.manhasset-specialty.com/p/ ... ield?pp=24
Whereas you see the whole thing with them:
https://shop.manhasset-specialty.com/p/ ... ield?pp=24
And ones within the forums show as local addresses without the domain:
