Fred Rose D whistles - wind resistance and volume

Post by ecadre »

The subject is it really ... Fred Rose D whistles - wind resistance and volume.

How well do they do played outside with breezes. As well as a Susato? Don't bother it's hopeless, or it'll do but it's tricky etc?

Also, what is the volume like? Louder than a Generation? Do they get as loud as a Susato D (small bore Kildare) at the top end, are they more balanced etc?

My frames of reference are around Generation, Susato, Dixon, Impempe, Sweetone whistles.

Don't worry, I'll hold no-one to account, but you can only get a certain amount of a way with videos and recordings without having the whistle in your own hands.
