J.P. Le Meur, New experience

I recently ordered a Low F whistle from J.P. Le Meur and I'd like to share my experience as there
seemed to be some trouble in the past (see viewtopic.php?f=1&t=99370).

Le Meur launched a new website with an eBay shop for easy ordering. I'm not sure if the whistles listed there
are already on stock or made on order. I ordered my whistle on the 31st of May with an estimated delivery
between the 15th and 22nd of June. Exactly one week later a got the notice of shipment and the whistle
arrived on the 16th of June. So everything turned out as promised!

The whistle itself is a beauty and the craftmanship is excellent. The surface has a very nice grip compared to
the slippery of my former green MK Pro. There are now sharp edges, everything is nicely rounded.
I would describe the whistle as a soft to medium blower with a nice smooth second octave. Nevertheless,
the air requirement is still quite low. I owned a soft Goldie in the past and struggled with clogging all the time.
I haven't experienced that with the Le Meur so far. The windway seems to be tapered a bit.
The tone is rather pure (def. not breathy) but still complex (chiff).

I hope my very good experience with the ordering process helps to someones decision.

Very good to know. I have been thinking about getting one of his whistles for ages. They seem a bargain for the price. And they do sound lovely in the few videos I saw. I also like the brass tuning slide. I do wonder a bit about the combination of brass and alloy however as it is prone to contact corrosion. But I guess he has found a solution for that or everybody would send his whistle back if the alloy really did corrode.
I might have to go ahead and just order one.

Both movable parts of the tuning slide are mode out of brass. It's the same approach as on the MK Pros
and I did not have any problems with my former MK or heard of them.

A link to Le Meur's website is probably helpful. The ebay shop or any whistles didn't come up using an ebay search for Le Meur whistle, not from ebay.ie anyway, but there's a link from the website. Which shows one whistle sold, with positive feedback (take a bow there RLindner  ).
