The software www.mandolintab.net has “abcconverter” to convert abc notes to sheet music. According to the description, it can also add Whistle Tab below each music note on sheet music. I tried several times but failed. Anyone has the experience using mandolintab successfully adding Whistle Tab? Or anyone knows other simple software can create sheet music and Whistle Tab ?

Thanks!

I pasted an ABC into it just now and it works fine. Did you tell it to convert to whistle tab?

I know that ABC Explorer (PC platform) can do it and Musescore 3 can do it but you need to get the tab font plugin elsewhere for Musescore 3.

Firefox on Windows PC from this page but you have to select 'whistle' on the drop down and give the whistle key required.

The image only lasted 30 minutes or so, by the look of it.

Mr. Gumby:

Thanks very much. You made my day. I finally figured out.

I tried many times and not successful. I thought the software has problems until you showed that you did it successfully. I looked into the “converter” again carefully and found there is a box “Tablature”, the whistle is one of the options. At the top there is a “TAB” bar, I kept pushing that “TAB” and that is the wrong location for conversion.

Hi KC! It's good to see you're still part of this forum.

I remember playing Kokoni Sachi Ari (sp?) with you playing the harmonica and me on the whistle at the whistle gatherings here in the San Francisco bay area.

Glad to see you're still here!

Hi, Alton:

Thanks. Nice to hear from you. Yes, I remember we play together at the SF gathering many years ago. I am still in the Bay Area. Are you still in the Bay Area? Is your wife still teaching English and Hawaii Dance?

Finally, I retired in 2017. If you are still in Bay Area, we can get together after the Coronavirus goes away.

Safe and Healthy,
KC

Yes. Let's do that!

I miss the Bay Area gatherings and would love if we could put together another one - even if it's just you and me!

Mrs. LimuHead has become a certified Kumu Hula (hula teacher) and teaches hula now. She also still teaches English.

I got busy with playing on cruises, playing with various bands when needed, and solo gigs (uke & vocals), but with the pandemic-amonium I'm gigless now. Hopefully summertime will make up for it.

You can contact me here on C&F through the PM system.

Aldon

For some reason, the mandolin tab.net account has been suspended. I just learned how to use musescore to create sheet music, I read online information and tried to plugin whistle tabs into musescore but not successful. If you know how to create whistle tabs on sheet music using musescore, please help me to do it. My computer is Mac Pro. Thanks very much.
