Hi all! I'm newbie to the C&F boards, though not to C&F. I hope this is proper forum to ask. If not, please point me in the right direction.

I am trying to find a song I heard a few years on the local college radio station's (WFUV in NYC) Irish music show. The song is a lovely slow air "The Clan at Rest" from The Quinn Brothers CD "Thirsty Business". It is played with tin whistle and flute. I would really like to learn it. I recorded the song off the air when I first heard it. But the poor reception makes recording horrible for learning the piece.

I have searched the Net without success. I am unsure if it is their own composition or an old traditional Irish song. I googled and find references to the CD (published by Glen Arm in early 2000s) air play and a review, even a catalog number. Apparently, the publisher no longer exists. and the CD is out of print.

I am hoping someone here can offer suggestions where I get this CD. Yes, I did ask the radio station. They couldn't offer any help. Obviously, they aren't parting with their CD. :) Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Bob

Hi Bob!

My name is Brendan, one of the sons of the Quinn Brothers. I recently digitized this album your referring to (Thirsty Business) online so now you can access it now. "Clan at Rest" is on there as well. It's available across all major streaming services (Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, etc). Sorry for the delay! Enjoy!

Hi Brendan!

Oh, this is absolutely fantastic!! Thank you sooo much!! I never was successful tracking down the CD. I guess it didn't get wide distribution. :( I had to be content with the very staticy off-the-air recording I, by shear luck, made from WFUV.

No worries about the delay. I am happy it is finally out there. And I will be able to listen to the rest of the album. Given my best and thanks to your dad and uncle(s?)! :)

(And I guess I can stop floating on the ceiling now.)
