Tell us something.: i've been making flutes for over twenty years, playing with friends and neighbors who help me tune my instruments and encourage me to share my art with the world. I carve bamboo flutes using concentrated sunlight and 3D-print whistle mouthpieces down to 42" contrabasses, as well as one-handed double tabor pipes.

To improve your grip, you might be more comfortable using your first index finger joint after the palm. Pipers' grip is usually ringtips and middle joints on middle and index fingers. Using the inner index joint will probably make the line from your hand to your wrist straighter-- I've heard that straight line is better for ergonomics.
