3rd Aberdeen "FluteFling" : 1 / 3 Nov.2019

Post by kenny »

Although we have been calling it "FluteFling" since starting in Edinburgh 6 years ago, we started including whistles [ of all sizes, but in "D", please ] 2 years ago, so this is relevant to this forum as well as the "Flute Forum" :

The 3rd Aberdeen "FluteFling" Weekend will take place 1-3 November, with workshops taking place on Saturday 2nd November at Inchgarth Community Centre, Aboyne Pl, Aberdeen AB10 7DR
There will be sessions on Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday afternoon.
3 main tutors will be John Gahagan [ ex- "Battlefield Band" ], Sharon Creasey [ Boehm-system flute ], Gordon Turnbull
[ simple-system ].
Dougie Pincock [ also "ex-Battlefield Band" ] had such a good time last year that he volunteered to come back. He and myself will be holding 20-30min. "1-to-1" individual tuition sessions for all students, where they can ask questions, seek advice, request a tune, whatever - we will do our best to accomodate.

All information can be accessed through the link below. If there's anything we've missed, please ask here and I will reply ASAP, or send me a private message.
Hope to see some of you there. Kenny

I had forgotten that both John Gahagan and Dougie Pincock had been members of Glasgow band "Kentigern". Here's a "Youtube" clip of them playing 2 pipe tunes, "Rathven Market" and "The Conundrum". Presumably Dougie is playing small-pipes and John whistle.
