Hi. I want so much a Silkstone Alloy or Ace in High D. Would trade it for one of these two fantastic whistles,....Sind, Bb in Brass or an rare or just very hard to come by, the amazing whistle maker Marc Löfgren. It's an aluminum in F. Superb instruments both. If you want both whistles, I would also be interested in an Oz Vambrase or Abell in High D. Also on my mind is Galeòn and Burke Narrow Bore or Session High D in Brass. Another, two in fact, is first a whistle by Benedict Stewart Boxwood High D. And I'm very curious to try a Carbony High D whistle, 6 or 7 holes. Would be fun to try a full Carbonfiber whistle. For a long time I've been dreaming of a Lon Dubh by Pat O'Dwyer in Delrin(most) or wood. I have one prototype in plastic. An example when he/they tried to make one for mass production. Sadly it's not what the real thing sings like. So, there you have it ladies and gents. Those are the whistles I'm crawing for. First of all a Silkstone Ace or Alley in High D(as the rest, all I high D). I have some other great whistles that I could part with for a good trade with the others. Welcome to contact me by mail or answer here. I can assure you my whistles are all great ones, so satisfaction guaranteed.
Most sincerely
Thomas Aasen, Norway

Add McManus to your wishlist: http://www.roymcmanus.co.uk/ - every bit as nice as Abell at an affordable 1/3 of the price. These are the "undiscovered" gems of our age! I have D and Low-A and both are fabulous.

You won't go wrong with the Burke Session D in brass. The carbon fibre option is interesting but hard to recommend ahead of Burke if you're spending that kind of money. Don't part with your Sindt - you will regret it and never replace it.

With the greatest of collegial respect, Thomas ... if you have a McManus in D, you will not find an Abell in D any better.

I have an Abell in D, and McManus instruments in the nearby keys of C#, Eb and E. They all match - or even outshine - the Abell. (The Bb, A and Ab McManuses I have are all wonderful too). We are lucky to have Roy living in Europe (at least for the moment ;-) ).

Warm regards,

Seán.

PS If you must have one, I would sell the Abell D to you for 350 Euro (to buy more McManus whistles).
