Anyone try the Susato Orioles?

I was interested in hearing reviews about the Susato Orioles, particularly if anybody has tried that multipack set of 1 fipple head with 4 bodies in the keys of Eb, D, C & Bb.

Besides the usual questions about tonal quality and ease of moving between octaves, I'm most curious if there's any air leakage around where the head joins the body from constant switching it back and forth between the keys?
( oh, okay. Plug your Susato Kildares and the Orioles low key big brothers the Dublins if you want to too :D )

I love the Susato Bb/C/D set.

Although I have the Kildare, I could not agree more with Mr Duggan's assessment.

They are good whistles. Among them, the tone body and head combination works best on the C. I don’t have them anymore, but I enjoyed playing them. Others on this forum have found the Bb to be not the best match for the head; it was quiet, whereas the others tubes in the set were matched well. The C was my favorite.

I enjoy my set. I haven't played them out in a session.

I like them, they were my first whistles (the set you mentioned) after my cooperman died. They have rubber O-rings which act as gaskets that fit neatly into grooves on the body where it meets the head-joint, so no leaking issues. EDIT: I was mistaken per the gaskets, however no issues with leaks

I was going to say, I had not heard that about the O-rings. And that sounded like a good idea. But glad to hear that it's no problem otherwise. Thanks for the evaluation

There are no O rings on the Orioles.

PROBLEMS IN THE 2ND OCTAVE?

Okay, I forgot I had this particular thread up. I looked for my other thread to delete it but I didn't find it.
So I will just reask the question here and delete the other later.

A guy on YouTube said that he found playing in the second octave a trial.

He said it was almost impossible to play and if he had had to play a song that was much in the way up in the second octave he would have probably had to use so much breath he would have passed out. (Apparently he was playing a Scottish tunr, The Yew Tree, that stayed a lot in the first octave)
In addition to having to use a lot of breath he said it was hard to control in the second octave.

So, anyone else experience THAT with their HIGH D Oriole or Kildare?

Can't speak for anyone else, but I have not experienced THAT.

Most tunes I play spend a fair amount of time in the second octave. It's just not a problem I have encountered.

Have three Kildare and they play fine in both octaves. So do my Feadog, Sindt, Kilarny, Water weasel, ect.......and DIY whistles.
