Johannes Adler Schulflöte in D

Post by Squeakie »

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these instruments. It looks kind of like a D whistle with a recorder mouthpiece.
I'm wondering what the tone is like, overblowing, etc. I've found out its a six hole (no thumb hole) school flute, but little else.

Thanks, Lisa

Hi Squeakie

I doubt you will find many pre WW2 whistles being played by people here (flutes are another matter).

Appearance wise, the closest modern whistles to the Adler would be the Swayne and old style Sweetheart.
