Tell us something.: I've been playing whistle for a very long time, but never seem to get any better than I was about 10 years ago. I'm okay with that. :)

Tune ID

Post by Bretton »

Hi! Does anyone know the name and type of tune being played here by Eimear McGeown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKnxwmAdyqY

Thanks!

Tell us something.: A new tin whistle player, I'm eager to learn more from the collective wisdom of this group. While my playing could use lots of help, I'm especially eager to learn which recordings to listen to.

From Roy McManus himself in the comments: "Its one of Eimear,s own compositions called "The mushroom tree", here is another version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe1Xd8E-BL0"

You're welcome! I thought so too. Here's another version where she's playing it on a Bb whistle:

Tell us something.: I’m a relatively new whistle player and wanted to expand my knowledge base and learn more about ITM/Celtic music.

On iTunes it’s track 8 on the album “Celtic Reflections” by Barry Douglas with Eimear.
