Post by manu.bande »

Honestly speaking I would keep it for me  if wasn't that I've just received this morning a wonderful
Morneaux Maple Low D whistle ! :D

Anyhow, if someone is interested there's a nice Reyburn Maple Head Low D on eBay
with an interesting price:

Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

Strange ... I looked at this when it was first posted, and the link definitely took me to a maple head Reyburn at that time. Now it's taking me to something quite different. :-?

The whistle is no longer available and ebay suggested a deQuelery whistle instead. That listing, in turn, linked on to their 3D printed (and other) whistles and a page that gives a well thought through description of their design process. Best descriptive treatment of 3D printed whistle making I have come across so far : here (or see their blog). And no faffing about or hyperbole about the process or the results either, no world peace promised or extraordinary claims made, which is rather refreshing. It's in Dutch so that may be prohibitive for some readers.

I had a much less interesting adventure: it linked to to rather ordinary Susato.

The link sends me to this page each time.

Ops..., if so I'm quiet happy I didn't get it and
hopefully I didn't cause any harm to somebody else... :
However I'm quiet sure that the auction was for a Reyburn
Low D maple head...
I just did think that I might be able to help someone to get a nice whistle...
but obviously it wasn't a good idea...
Sorry about it...

No need to apologize.

The first time I checked it out it definitely linked to a Reyburn maple head whistle.

A nice looking one at that.

No, not at all. Nothing wrong here. The whistle sold or the listing ended otherwise and ebay started diverting to 'suggested' items.

No I never got directed to that. The first couple times I was directed to the Susato, now it just shows me the original listing of the Reyburn.

Ebay can be strange that way: sometimes you can view closed listings just fine, sometimes you can't.
