I ordered one a Mellow Dog on April 10th, from Ebay. I got an email saying it shipped on April 20th, ten days after the order. USPS is this morning saying "status not available. The tracking number may be incorrect or the status update is not yet available. Please verify your tracking number and try again later." So it's clearly not going to arrive before Monday at the earliest, which would make it two weeks.
I don't think that's a "super long" wait, but I don't think it meets anyone's idea of speedy shipping from Connecticut to Northern VA. You could mail a letter in three days in 1830, for example: http://longstreet.typepad.com/thescienc ... -1830.html
It's not clear to me if the whistle I bought was "in stock:" the ebay listing suggested that it was. But if it was already made and sitting on a shelf ten days to ship it does seem like an unreasonably long time. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect faster shipping than that, unless the item is made to order. If it's made to order that would be a different story.
