Susato makes both their Kildare and Dublin models with optional keys:

I have their Kildares in A and low G with 1 (bell note) key. They make it much easier for my small hands, and I like the tone of the Kildare as well. I also have the Kildare Bb and C, but they are short enough that I wouldn't need a key on them.

Thanks for the links! The Jubilee version looks pretty complicated - I was thinking more along the lines of the Susato (and they also make - or made - a bent-neck version, which is just as important for ergonomy as the keys, if not more so).

Faber0611, we're still here and wondering when you might comment again? For sure, quite a lot else has been discussed along the way, but that grew (like so much here) from latent/accidental cues... no, it's not strictly for Irish or Celtic music, so anything goes... in this case even recorders in the Whistle Forum from DrPhill's illustration(s) of its potentially all-encompassing nature! So please ask away about your general whistling questions because we have experienced, eclectic and interested whistlers here even if the majority are most involved in the Irish/Celtic scene.
