So, we just redid my office furniture. I'm finally in real office furniture and not a re-purposed old dining room table. My wife used her crafting superpowers to make me these whistle racks. I think they look amazing!

You didn't. The folks at Chiffco® thought your post in the Pub was fine, but as it had to do with the topic of whistles, it qualified for some extra broadcast.Wanderer wrote:Weird...

Re: My wife made some whistle racks
I have found that if I leave instruments laying about I tend to play them more often.
It just now dawned on me that my various Low and Bass whistles have a large enough bore to sit on a Boehm flute stand. I could get a four-flute stand I guess and have those big boys to hand without lying on the table like they are now. (They're too big to fit in my whistle roll.)
Beautiful whistle racks there, and thanks for the inspiration.

Re: My wife made some whistle racks
Nice...now I want to do DIY racks for my whistles. These are nice because I can just get the supplies from the local hardware store and make them with some basic tools, and I don't have to have all the woodworking tools required to turn my own pieces.
I found that the best stands for my low whistles are Native American flute stands that I can find on Etsy. Just make sure the dowels are smaller than the bore on your whistles. I'm sure someone who does any woodwork can make these for themselves. Since I don't have the woodworking equipment, so I just buy them.

Cool idea! Your wife did a great job on those. You have some very nice looking whistles, so why not show them off and keep them close at hand? Well done!

Re: My wife made some whistle racks
Those are very nice indeed. At a quick glance I thought they were made from tree slices. If you could find the right size, those would make awesome racks.
