Tell us something.: I'm an orchestral flute player with a couple tin whistles looking for a better one, combing thru info on whistles before I purchase one.

What is a KWL Cheiftain?

Post by CatDuet »

I see one for sale on Ebay, but I don't seem to find any sound tests "out there" for it. There are lots of Chieftains, with descriptions of playability and Youtube videos, but not with these initials. On the Kerry Whistles website, I didn't see it either. So please remove my ignorance. I'm looking for a used or economical new Low D.

Thanks!

KWL are the initials for Kerry Whistles Limited. It's Phil Hardys company producing both the Chieftain whistles
as well as the Kerry Pro and Optima series.

my V2 chieftain has KWL stamped on the back.

Without seeing pictures, it's going to be hard to tell what the actual model is being sold.
