Good Whistles for Sale

Post by judith »

Hi there,
I'm not gonna ever play the whistle as well as I'd like to, so for sale are:

Burke Low G, Brass - $175.
Burke Low A, Brass - $165
Burke Session D, Brass - $150.
Le Meur, aluminum C - $125 SOLD
Sindt D, brass - $150. SOLD(I bought this whistle many years ago. I don't know how, or if, John identifies his whistles now, but there is nothing that identifies this whistle as a Sindt besides it's characteristics.)

Buyer pays shipping.

Also for sale are 2 handy whistle carriers. Both roll up. One is for C, D and smaller whistles, the other for lower whistles.

Pictures available upon request.

If you think the prices are out of whack, let me know.

Judith

Did you check the back of the head? Usually there's 'JS' scratched into the brass, just below the edge of the delrin part, right at the centre.

Although I think your asking price is reasonable enough (all things considering and with the caveat I would never consider paying that much for a whistle), Sindts have sold for (much) higher prices than the one you're asking.

Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

Mr. Gumby is certainly correct. Yesterday, on a whistle/flute site, I saw that a Sindt D sold for $400.

And Sindts have sold for the reasonable cost too. Wait it out and see.

True.. so there's no reason to stop! It took me 40 years before I started to feel I got anywhere with the guitar, despite working on it all the time. But then it did start to get somewhere.. the ear etc. began to do what I could observe others do back when I started. The trick is to not let ambitions get in the way, just have fun, don't stop. (And most people may not even be as exceptionally slow as I have been) ;)

It's nice to see someone selling a Sindt without price gouging coming into play.

High prices are not the same as price gouging.
