Tell us something.: Old hand, active in the early 2000s. Less active in recent years but still lurking from time to time.

How utterly and pathetically British. The management must be descended from the ostriches who piloted the UK motorcycle industry (and just about every other sector of British industry) from top of the heap to extinction in twenty years!

Too right!

If it ain't broken and works perfectly you can rest assured that we won't rest until we'll fix it - good and proper. If it's f**ked up completely you can be safe in the knowledge that we'll do absolutely nothing about it.

Let's see what they have to say.
Here's what they said:

(Authorised quote from a representative of the sales organisation representing Generation.)

Quote

“… There are no plans at the moment to make any changes to the Generation range of products. We have read the forum with interest and will keep you informed of any changes that may arise in the future. The Factory that is now known as Generation Music are the same people who made the whistles before as Barnes and Mullins Mfg Ltd, so there have been no changes to personnel and designers, who have made the whistles over the past 20+ years. …”

End-quote

:)
Alrightly, then. I guess that pretty much closes down the whole issue. Nothing else to see here, folks. Please return to your homes.

:-?

Homes? So what does the average whistlers home look like?

Like that ever stopped the hard-core C&Fers from adding another twelve pages to the thread.
The Walrus

What would a wild walrus whistle if a walrus could whistle wild?

The second mouse may get the cheese but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired.

I'm sure they wouldn't do that. Would they?

For the record, we're on page five.

Twelve more pages will take it to page 17. For such a gifted group as we are, that shouldn't present any problem. If necessary, I'll divert the topic to just intonation to help with the effort.

Best wishes,
Jerry

On this week's episode of Studio 60 on the Aaron Sorkin Strip,
they were filming a commercial spot for their sketch comedy show.
One of the characters used a "dolphin laugh" that was supposed to
be used in a later skit. When the spot aired, the producer and writer
felt that any decisions about the future of the skit had been taken out
of their hands because there was so much speculation about the new
sound effect. They felt pressured to use it now that it was "out in the
world".

Maybe our speculation will force the Generation folk to create a new
model because now we expect it... :)

Oh, that point!

It's a bit faint, but none the less visible for being inconsistent with it's surroundings.

I felt the juxtaposition of the left hand side of the point against the edge of the window was very tastefully done and added so much to the point you made.

Unfortunately i'm going away for the weekend now, so i will have to leave the continuation of this thread in the very capable hands of my fellow and fellowess chiff & fipplers.

Until Tuesday...

That would certainly do it! However, I don't think such drastic measures will be necessary, Jerry. C&F bylaws require Generation threads to run a minimum of 18 pages or Dale has to buy us all a new whistle. That rule is in Section III, a(1)iii. You can look it up.
